EJOT Delta PT and Boss Family: Direct assembly for thermoplastics EJOT’s fastening technology is prevalent throughout first tier manufacture and supply.
The thermal bonding process of the EJOT TSSD ensures a secure boss can be integrated into the lightweight materials used in automotive seating, including those with a honeycomb structure.
The EJOT TSSD thermal adhesive bonding boss is used to provide a secure boss for the EJOT Delta PT screw in lightweight materials, including those used in EV door construction.
The four products in the EPPsys range can open up new potential for the use of EPP (expanded polystyrene) in vehicle doors, offering solutions which take the form of threaded plastic fasteners, a friction welded boss and a boss that is securely fixed using a thermal adhesive process.
Brief characteristics of the possible applications of the EJOT DELTA CALC® prognosis program: Design of the boss hole For dimensioning of the boss hole the default DELTA CALC® calculation applies the design guidelines of the EJOT DELTA PT®.
FDS reduces the need for additional processes in both the clamping material and installation boss material. This creates less need for alignment and savings in handling time.
“The TSSD is one such fastening system – this thermal adhesive bonding boss provides a secure boss for the EJOT DELTA PT screw or a direct fastening element.”
Contrary to self-tapping geometries, this contour allows to coin the thread by elastic / plastic deformation inside the plastic boss without damaging the material. Through the thread-coining process, the dense outer layer of the core hole is deformed by the thread root and not destroyed - it is thus preserved.
In addition, DELTA CALC® will also enable effective dimensioning of the boss hole, making it capable of simulating the effect of variations within realistic boundaries thanks to material data bank of approximately 350 different thermoplastics.
This is a family of plastic fastening elements which offer exceptional strength to weight ratio, durability, application versatility, optimisation for automated assembly, and recyclability. From the EPPsys RSD boss, which is securely installed into the foam via a friction welding process, to the EPPsys DR fastener for thin-walled components where a snap-fit connection is required, the range offers great application versatility for seating designers to achieve more creative results.

This reduces the need for additional processes in both the clamping material and installation boss material, which means reduced need for alignment and savings in handling time during BIW assembly.

Automotive lighting designers can also benefit from EJOT EASYboss. This range of plastic fastening elements – compatible with the EJOT Delta PT screw – is ideal for assembling materials with varying thicknesses, which reduces reliance on metal clips.
Benefits of the JBS-R/EcoTek combination Easier installation - one combination driven to just one depth Tubewasher prevents heat loss - assists thermal retention Simpler ordering - no need to source a variety of screws and stress plates Fewer parts - means less confusion and an inventory without waste Straightforward application - saves time and money with better results Easy ordering - everything you need in one place
Noncompliance could result in consequences like regulatory offence procedures, product recalls, and loss of customers and markets.
A collaboration between Ross-on-Wye based A J Lowther & Son, EJOT UK and GRP specialists Filon was behind a technicallly challenging roof refurbishment in the industrial heart of the Potteries in Staffordshire.
This met the specification for providing a way to remove and replace the test machinery as required without loss of performance from the anchors.
It can be recognised at an early stage and only restricts the load-carrying capacity if the loss of the metal is significant.
