EJOT® has developed a self-tapping fastener range specifically for use in atmospheres with a known risk of high stress corrosion.

The company has based its product development on studies made since 1985 on the continent. Typical problem areas include leisure centres with large indoor swimming pools, tunnel building, and environments that combine high humidity and high chloride concentrations.

A2 and A4 grade stainless steels have always been the traditional materials used for these applications but they do not meet the requirements of the German DIBT. The EJOT® innovations team has perfected a solution using modified stainless steel 1.4529 to provide a significantly higher resistance to corrosion from chlorine, chloride & sulphur dioxide. The fastener is compliant with the German Building Institute.
