EJOT UK’s ISO 9001 renewal strengthens quality assurance

EJOT UK has received its latest internationally recognised endorsement for the quality of its service with the successful renewal of is ISO 9001: 2015 certification.

Despite the latest annual audit being undertaken during the unprecedented circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic, the temporary changes to working arrangements at its Yorkshire HQ designed to maintain staff safety were no barriers to EJOT’s processes and operations passing with ‘flying colours’.

The certification confirms EJOT UK’s suitability as a supplier of fastening systems to markets with demanding environments, such as nuclear power generation, and IATF 16949 certification, an extension of ISO 9001 for suppliers to the automotive industry which has extremely strict process and quality requirements.

The audit looks at every process involved in the delivery of EJOT’s services, with particular focus on its warehouse. Walking in the steps of a typical EJOT customer, auditors followed a specific order, tracing it from receipt right through to delivery, checking that everything along this process is properly documented.

By reviewing everything from equipment calibration and the tools used to test EJOT products, to the team’s understanding of their roles and duties, training records and the company’s suppliers, auditors get 360 degree visibility on the quality and effectiveness of its processes.

Securing ISO 9001 certification for another year means that EJOT UK has been certified continuously now for 29 years, reflecting its commitment to quality. This is also demonstrated through its support for the NFRC during 2021, including sponsorship of the renowned ‘Blue Book’ and two categories of the UK Roofing Awards.

Fiona Morley, Quality Assurance Manager at EJOT UK said: “Our annual ISO 9001 audit is extremely important as it provides an independent review of what we do and how we do it, ensuring we can continuously improve as a business. So, it is particularly pleasing that we satisfied the requirements of ISO 9001 extremely well during the most unusual circumstances due to the pandemic, a result that is a testament to the hard work of the whole EJOT team.

“Quality is at the heat of everything we do. With our fastening systems often used in safety critical applications, ISO 9001 certification plays an important role in satisfying the traceability and quality assurance needs of our customers – that’s why it is so important to us.”

EJOT UK has grown to become the country’s leading provider of fastening solutions for sectors that depend on quality fixings, including construction, automotive engineering and consumer electronics. It manufactures fastening systems here in the UK and across its global factory network for all key roofing and cladding applications, including rainscreen and façade installation, single ply membrane and flat roofing systems, EWI/ETICS, and solar energy roof systems.
