E-connectivity fasteners for Electric Vehicles

One of the clearest examples of where internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and Electric Vehicles (EVs) differ is in respect of their need for electricity connectivity – or e-connectivity.

The new assemblies such as the charging lead connection points that enable electricity to feed to the battery are as fundamental to an EV’s operation as the petrol or diesel tank is to an ICE vehicle.

So, for EV designers, e-connectivity is an area that requires detailed focus to ensure the driver and owner can depend on being able to charge their vehicle reliably in the long term. Any issues with the assemblies and devices that facilitate e-connectivity will stand in the way of using the EV with confidence.

Micro Screws

EJOT’s development of its micro screws range continues to meet the demand for miniaturisation and super-lightweight assembly solutions. These miniature screws have all the advantages of the larger dimensioned parent product.

For example, a DELTA PT micro screw variant for joining into thermoplastics, has a nominal diameter of 1 mm, suitable for multiple examples of connectivity housings.  This gives designers the flexibility, precision and cost saving potential for either manual or fully automated assembly.
